Below the supposed message about the Singapore Airlines competition there is a link: “replaceporcelain.cn/Singeporeairwa/…” or “w.gropelandmark.cn/Singaporeairwa/…” – Even if the term “Singapore Airwa” appears here, This does not come from the company itself. The airline ultimately uses the domain www.singaporair.com . The alarm bells should already be ringing here.

The airline logo is used in the message. The links vary, but always lead to a...

Fake competition in the name of Singapore Airlines

Attention, now it's getting a bit tedious - a real click marathon begins. If you open the link from the WhatsApp message, you will be taken to a page that offers the prospect of winning 2,000 euros if you take part in a type of survey.

The comments you see here are fake. You don't have the option to write a comment yourself. You cannot like or dislike existing comments either.

Of course you got the right box and were congratulated with 2,000 euros.
All you have to do is inform 5 groups or 20 contacts via WhatsApp. Of course – the fake should ultimately be spread further. Once you have done this, you still have to register. Personal data such as name, address, date of birth, email address and mobile phone number are requested here.

You will then be informed on another page that you have carried out the 19.17 billionth Google search. And in return you would have won a MediaMarkt voucher worth 1,000 euros. – Guys, now it's getting ridiculous.

At the end of the seemingly endless clicking process, you can answer what feels like 100 questions about your own preferences, habits, insurance, interests, etc. Here you already select which topics interest you personally.

No profit, just spam and subscription sales

During the click marathon, a page will point out what it's actually about: collecting data!

MIMIKAMA

As in most cases, there are data collectors behind this competition who pass on all the data entered to third parties. By participating in the alleged competition, you agree to be contacted by them.

In the end, you don't get the promised profit, but instead you lose your personal data, receive endless spam, may have taken out an expensive subscription or even downloaded malware.

Conclusion: stay away!

Supposed competitions that arrive via WhatsApp always follow the same pattern: The message should be spread further in the first steps of the process so that the likelihood that the fraudsters behind the fake competition will get as much data as possible increases.

Therefore: Ignore and delete such messages, which come with a URL that smells noticeably fake anyway. And it's best to inform the sender that this is a fake competition that has nothing to do with the alleged sender "Singapore Airlines".
