This image, of course, provokes outrage: on the left you can see several people sitting on public transport. On the right there is a senior woman who holds on to the pole while driving and has no place to sit.
One might assume that the senior citizen is being ignored by the other passengers. She holds on tightly while driving without having a fixed seat. This image was subsequently edited and carries the message “What do I see here? 3 slaps in the face with a running start!”
Apart from the fact that this picture propagates violence and not only three, but four people can be seen sitting in one place, the author of the friendly lines probably has no idea what the context of the scene shown in the picture was.
Because like so many pictures on the internet, this is just a snapshot. There is an important reason why the senior woman is standing instead of sitting, one she chose herself.

No Seat: The Background
The picture is older and comes from Australia, where it naturally caused outrage when it was first published. But this outrage is unfortunately not appropriate (at least at this point).
The explanation is quite simple: the pensioner wants to get off at the next station and has already approached the exit. How do we know this? It's simple: the senior's grandson recognized his grandmother in the picture. It was he who went public with a correction. He sent an explanation of the image to Ben Fordham's 2GB radio show
The woman's grandson has said she was preparing to disembark at the next station.
The meta level
Of course, we understand the message the sharepic is intended to spread: Please pay attention to your environment on public transport. Anyone who can offer their seat to others who need it should do so (as long as they are able to do so themselves, of course).
Nevertheless, the truth behind the picture teaches us that one should not always judge too quickly. There are too many situations in which pensioners prefer to be close to the exit or, for various reasons, cannot reach a seat quickly enough or do not accept it. An image that is merely a snapshot cannot reflect these reasons.
