Seating position on the plane: It is repeatedly claimed that, for economic reasons, the sitting position intentionally leads to death in an emergency.
It is a chain letter that provides information about the well-known sitting position (head down, hands over head) in an emergency. According to an unnamed flight attendant, this is a death trap,
ATTENTION AIR TRAVELERS! I received very disturbing information from a former flight attendant. Below is what the flight attendant told me, word for word! \"We are trained to tell people to put their head down while holding their neck in an accident. [Chain letter shortened, the complete version can be read at the end of this article]
But do airlines really have an interest in passengers dying quickly in an emergency? We have serious doubts about this chain letter.

The fact check on the sitting position
This chain letter is not unknown to us, it is a translated version of an English chain letter. It's about the so-called brace position.
The brace position is a seating position that maximizes the chances of surviving a plane crash uninjured. So exactly the opposite of what is described in the chain letter.

The creation of the position is based on many scientific studies and also crash tests. The occasion was rather sad, as a flight disaster in 1989 prompted improved safety measures. The development has taken place over years.
We describe exactly how the brace position came about in our article “Fact check: Airplane seating position is said to quickly kill passengers” ( here ).
The entire chain letter
ATTENTION AIR TRAVELERS! I received very disturbing information from a former flight attendant. Below is what the flight attendant told me, word for word! \"We are trained to tell people to put their head down while holding their neck in an accident. During one of my supervisor's hearings during an insurance settlement, he admitted that he did not tell me the terrible and dark truth about why we are taught this procedure! PLACING THEIR HEAD DOWN AND HANDS OVER THE HEAD FORCES THEIR HEADS INTO THE BACK OF THE FRONT SEAT…. BREAKING PASSENGER NECKS KILLING THEM INSTANTLY! That way, insurance payouts due to paralyzed or permanently injured people won't be as high and the airline can pay out a quick death benefit.\" You heard it right. The airline wants you to die in an accident, then tell the story live and collect $$$$ forever. HOW SAD IS IT WHEN PROFITS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN SAVING LIVES. The right way to avoid death in an accident is to lean up while sitting! I had to share this because it might save your life or someone you love! Published by Scott L. Biddle
