Fraudulent SMS in the name of Erste Bank and Sparkassen

These scams involve customers receiving SMS messages on our behalf, asking them to “renew” their s Identity registration or to “unlock” the s Identity app after detecting a “suspicious transaction.”

For this purpose, the recipient is offered a link to a website that supposedly belongs to Erste Bank or Sparkasse, but which not come from us.

The aim of the fraudsters is to use the bank details you have entered to carry out fraudulent activities in your internet banking (e.g. transfers or activation of additional devices for s Identity) and to get you to release them with s Identity.

Don't open link in SMS

If you receive such a message, you should under no circumstances open the link. If you do this anyway, data will be requested on a fake Sparkasse or Erste Bank website.

The fraudsters are targeting login details for online banking accounts!

If you are unsure whether the content of the SMS might be correct, it is advisable to ask your bank directly.
