A letter has been floating around the internet for years. This alleges that “Springer Verlag” hired bloggers to create an anti-Russian mood.

This copy is addressed to the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament and dates from 2014.

Even today we often receive inquiries about this letter:

The letter calls on the country to pay promised financial support for 642 bloggers.

As already mentioned, we have already commented on this several times, because this letter sounds so unbelievable that it is already true for many theorists.

The fact is: every well-crafted theory cannot be proven, but neither can it be refuted.

The fact check

Important note: We at ZDDK/Mimikama.at behave politically neutral. Statements made about the authenticity of individual cases in NO WAY reflect a political intention on the part of the association.

Let's start with an analysis of the individual elements of the letter:

And we don't want to bother with small details, but instead present a big mistake: the sender and contact details in the letterhead. Who notices what?

N/a? Address from Berlin – telephone number from Hamburg! Someone must have simply googled some information while writing it. And at the same point another note: The font formatting at this point is sloppy and does not correspond to the formatting used by Axel Springer Verlag.

Another element: the addressee!

No person? Is the secret letter being discussed publicly in the castle? Everyone should answer that for themselves.

So what is this letter about?

The letter appears to be a means of manipulation in the “Pro/Contra Putin” discussion. Lars Wienand from the Rhein-Zeitung writes:

The publisher may have become the target of such a insult because of its clear positioning: “When will the world finally stop Putin?” was the headline in “Bild” on July 21st. Apparently, users even trusted the publisher to have an army of undercover, paid authors comment on them - the media scandal in general would be perfect.

(Quote from: Rhein-Zeitung from July 24, 2014 )

The same author also spoke to a Twitter distributor about this, who behaved very evasively under the pressure of questions.

Result:

We at ZDDK/Mimikama.at are currently confronted with countless inquiries about politically motivated incitement allegations every day. Be it the Middle East problem with the associated anti-Semitism, or the Ukraine crisis. With all these many inquiries, you can clearly feel that many authors and creators of the individual reports, images or videos have a strong “Cold War” mentality and that manipulation is being carried out from various sides. Each side describes the other side as stupid, blind and closed and tries to defame.

The fact is that there are a few inconsistencies in the writing.
