The popular sweets from a factory in Belgium have led to salmonella infections across Europe. ( We reported about it here) . After the authorities closed the factory on Friday, April 8, 2022, it became known today, Monday, that the public prosecutor's office in Belgium is now investigating. The investigation itself is connected to a factory in Arlon

The supervisory authority Afsca had temporarily revoked Ferrero's production license for the Arlon plant until all food safety rules and requirements were met. In addition, all “children’s” chocolate products manufactured at this factory were withdrawn.

“I can confirm that an official report has been prepared about the facts at the Ferrero factory,” a spokeswoman for the public prosecutor’s office confirmed to the newspaper “ De Tijd ”.

The spokeswoman could not yet say what exactly the public prosecutor's office wants to investigate and what possible crimes are involved. The public prosecutor's office now mainly collects information and then decides how to proceed.
