“Standards Meta” is probably intended to trick users into thinking that these are Meta pages. The contributions are also signed with the “Meta Community Standards Team”. But this is simply a deception, because these are sites that only have one thing in mind: dusting off Facebook accounts.

The Facebook posts from “Standards Meta”

The page name is supplemented by a random sequence of numbers. The text in the contributions is often completely identical or at least essentially the same:

Dear admin page.
You need to claim your Page because it has been found to be engaging in activity that violates Facebook Pages' Community Standards guidelines.
For your protection, your Page is not visible to everyone on Facebook and you cannot use it.
Confirm that you are the account holder by clicking the following link: http://tinyurl.com/suppotteam99297914
In accordance with Facebook Community Standards, you have 24 hours to complete these steps to avoid permanently deactivating your account.
Thank you for helping us improve the way we maintain Facebook.
Best regards.
Meta Community Standards Team.

Contributions from “Standards Meta” in plain text

The clock is ticking!

To ensure that the sites or accounts of the site operators are not closed due to alleged violations of community standards, you would have to confirm within 24 hours that you are the account holder and avoid deactivating the site.
A link is provided for this in the posts. This is not an official link from Facebook .

The pages that you are directed to via the links look like those of Facebook / Meta. Here, users are asked to enter their Facebook account login details and in some cases also their name and telephone number.

Phishing!

If you enter your login details here, i.e. username and password, these will be played into the hands of the fraudsters. They can then use the data to access your profile or your Facebook page or group and can use it for further fraud.

The fact that different names are repeatedly used for this scam does not change the fact that this is not an official notification from Facebook / Meta .

Tip

If you are unsure whether a login page is real, you can try logging in with imaginary data, for example username: serfgerfxd@esrgrte.com , password: fgbvdrffgbcvfddg .

Sites like the one above sometimes require double entry, but you can use jumbled letters on this one too. If the input works, the data will not be compared and you can be sure that you have landed on a fake page!

Such fraudulent sites appear again and again with different names. In addition to “Standards Meta”, we are also aware of: “Facebook Support”, “Facebook Security”, “Server Network Registry Corporation”, “Social Network Registry Corporation”, “Fanpage Policy Issues” .

“Oh no, I have already submitted my details”

If you run a company page or fan page on Facebook and have entered your data into such a form, please change your password immediately if this is still possible!

You should take the following measures:

Backup, restore or verify account

In the worst case, only Facebook support can help you get back to your site... and unfortunately that can sometimes take a long time.
