Once again, 5G is being blamed for the deaths of hundreds of birds.

Hundreds of dead birds were actually found on a road in North Wales in the UK in December 2019. The report caused quite a stir and wild speculation. At the forefront is a site that claims to have identified the cause immediately: The birds died “near a 5G system”!

At least that's the claim, but let's go through the article from the Swiss site " Legitim " step by step to check their claims.

One of the many inquiries about the article
One of the many inquiries about the article

"Not again"?

The headline already refers to a false claim. The article says:

“The sad event is strongly reminiscent of the Hague massacre, when hundreds of lifeless birds fell from the sky in autumn 2018 at the same time and place where 5G tests were being carried out.”

This claim is false !
in several articles and in a summary : The birds died of poisoning and there were no 5G tests in The Hague.

The dead birds

In fact, the dead birds were found on a road near Bodedern in Anglesey, an island off Great Britain in North Wales, as Sky News reported, among others .

This claim is correct !

“There is 5G nearby”

Following the true part of the article, “Legitim” now wants to confuse its readers:

Daily Post announced : “Vodafone has launched superfast 5G services in North Wales for the first time.”

While this is correct, North Wales is quite large. According to the Daily Post article, 5G will be installed in a total of 30 locations in the UK, one of which will be Llandudno, a coastal town in North Wales.

Now let's just take a look at the map: Where is Llandudno and where were the dead birds found?

The distance between both places as the crow flies is around 45 kilometers .

This claim is misleading !
Although both places are in North Wales, they are 45 kilometers apart. So if the birds actually died near a “5G facility”, it was certainly not from the 5G masts in the aforementioned Llandudno.

The second example

Legitimate cites Tsawwassen in British Columbia, Canada, as another example of a “mysterious bird death. In this case too, the site only cherry-picked, because around 50 dead birds were actually found there, but their deaths were clarified quite quickly:
Surrey Now-Leader ” and “ Vancouver is awesome among others , that Rob Hope, an animal expert at Delta's Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society, saw the flock of birds apparently fleeing from birds of prey.

The flock of birds flew in a "wave" over an embankment while trying to escape. The rear part of the flock of birds basically didn't get up again in time, so the 50 or so birds landed with full force on the road, while the rest of the flock continued to fly.

Describing Tsawwassen as a “dangerous 5G test site” takes the swearing (sorry, there’s no other way to call it) to the extreme. The linked article is from 2014 (not 2016, as Legit claims) and reports “microwave radiation from 4G”… basically the same thing that is being claimed about 5G today.

This claim is false !
The incident at that time was clarified very quickly by an eyewitness, also an expert. Neither 5G nor 4G were to blame for the birds' deaths.

The other examples

To make a long story short: The other examples also do not point to 5G “radiation” as the cause.
In Draper, USA, the flock of birds apparently into a large object or vehicle, and some birds survived injured.
The bees in Sierra Madre, California also didn't die from 5G, they don't even have 5G installed there .

Is there 5G in Anglesey?

Let's go back to Great Britain, because now the only thing that remains to be clarified is whether the birds near Bordedern didn't die from 5G.
A spokesman for Vodafone UK said :

“We can confirm that there is no Vodafone 5G in the Bodedern area and no tests have taken place.”

But we want to check that again for ourselves!
Boededern has the postcode LL65 . So let's see how far the development of 5G is in the area. This can be done quite easily by entering the postal code of a location in the UK on this page .
The result:

There is no 5G there yet!
There are no 5G masts in Bordedern or the surrounding area, nor are any planned for 2020, neither from Vodafone nor from one of the other five competitors.

Conclusion

The death of the birds near Bodedern is still being clarified . All that is known so far is that the birds were not poisoned and died from trauma and internal bleeding due to a strong impact with the ground. Residents suspect that the winds in the area are quite strong at times.

Starling expert Prof Anne Goodenough from the University of Gloucestershire said the birds may also have been confused by the wet road reflecting the sun. She has already observed something similar with swans and geese, which collided with solar panels because they looked like lakes.

on the Twitter account of Tim Troseddau , a member of a North Wales Police rural crime and animal protection team. The final results of the investigations will probably appear there.

But one thing is clear: the cause of death cannot be 5G!
