The problem: Most boilers have automatic control.
It adjusts the temperature of the heating circuit to requirements and switches off the heating when the outside temperature exceeds a certain, fixed temperature. But that doesn't mean that the heating is completely off. Even if it is already warm enough not to heat, it can happen at night that the temperature drops enough for it to start again.
Check the heating setting
“This means that energy is wasted, especially in solidly built or well-insulated houses that only cool down slowly. It's best to look in the operating instructions for keywords such as 'summer mode' or 'hot water only'. You can make the change yourself.”
Matthias Lutter, energy consultant at the consumer advice center
After that, only hot water is produced for the kitchen and bathroom.
This is even easier if the hot water production is separate from the heating. In this case, it is sufficient to switch off the system completely until autumn.
