The trap of quick promises of money

The Internet offers unlimited possibilities. Unfortunately, there are also people who take advantage of these opportunities to make quick money with fraudulent intentions. Especially in the investment world, platforms like Telegram have made it easy for fraudsters. Why are such groups on Telegram so dangerous and how can you recognize them?

How criminals get your data

Whether Instagram, TikTok or Facebook – criminals use these platforms to target inexperienced investors. They pose as financial gurus and lure people into their groups on Telegram with exclusive tips and tricks. Dating apps are also misused for supposed insider information. – We reported HERE .

The Telegram group scam

In these groups, investors are convinced with supposed success stories and impressive screenshots. They tell of breathtaking profits and luxury goods purchased because the group advised investing. However, in many cases these stories are fictional.

Warning signs of fraudulent investment offers

  • Too good to be true: If the return sounds too fantastic, you should be skeptical.
  • Unwanted financial tips : Don’t blindly trust tips from strangers, especially if they come via social media or messengers.
  • Communication via Telegram: Reputable financial advisors would never communicate primarily via Telegram. Also be aware of the pressure that such “advisors” create and do not give in to it.
  • Inform yourself: Don’t just rely on the information presented to you. Do your own research into the trustworthiness of the offers.

What to do if you have already invested?

Have you already invested money on a dubious platform? Then you should act immediately. Cut off contact with the fraudsters, contact your bank and inform the authorities. Also be alert for follow-up scams.

Conclusion: Always remain critical

The financial world is complex and full of opportunities. But where there are opportunities, risks must also be accepted. Don't be blinded by seemingly simple promises of winnings. Always do your research before investing your hard-earned money.
