And again the mixed-up pictures of an allegedly deadly killer insect from Thailand are circulating on Facebook.

Back in 2016, colleague Jens the case with the Thai killer insect. But as we expect from the Internet, the myth is shared again on Facebook two years later, unsettling users.

It's about the story of the supposedly deadly killer insect from Thailand. It is expressly warned not to kill this animal if it is discovered on the body. Because by killing it, it is said to release poison and bacteria, from which you will die.

Is it true or is someone playing on people's fears again?

The insect is a male giant bug with a clutch of eggs. You can argue about whether you find this insect pretty or scary... nevertheless, the bite of this bug is generally painful for humans, but absolutely not fatal.

The photo of the holed hand definitely plays with the fear of holes - drilled, punched, eaten... no matter how the hole was created: in people with “trypophobia”, this photo triggers sheer horror.

Result:

There is no killer insect from Thailand. Just a combination of images that plays with people's fears and feelings of disgust.
