A hack that isn't a hack and that scares many people. Worldwide.

If I told you to jump out of the third floor window, would you do it? No, of course not, because it's crap. But if someone on Facebook told you about a #bff hack… would you share that warning? Yes? By the way, it's also crap. Bff is not a hacker check, but means “Best Friends Forever”! The thesis:

Make sure you don't think about your page or account
Type Bff in a comment
If it appears green, your account is protected and if it appears normal, you need to change the password

What's interesting about this hoax is that it's not just happening in Europe, but is causing unrest around the world. For example, a find from India:

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, text

It's a similar feature to what we already know from XOXO or Congratulations!

This type of feature has been available on Facebook since the summer of 2017. Initially, Facebook reacted to entering the terms “ You got this ”, you could see balloons and confetti flying across the screen if you wished your friends very special congratulations Congratulations wanted to transmit. At times there were animated terms from the Harry Potter universe . Other terms that trigger a feature are xoxo , bisous [French] or baci [Italian]; later Facebook gave the typed terms congratulations , hammer and wheel a small animation.

By the way …

The real hacker check is not #bff, but #bffs (no).Smiley with opened mouth
