Energy drinks, especially in the USA, come in the strangest flavors. But do you really want mouse-flavored Red Bull? Includes mouse?

A video on Facebook at least gives the impression that there was a dead mouse in a can of the sweet drink!

In the video, a man with a thick Southern accent, who according to multiple sources, including the Mirror and Metro , is from Arkansas and whose name is Josh Henley, is seen opening a can of Red Bull with a knife in a gun store and revealing the mouse inside shows. According to his statement, he drank this can last night and only discovered the animal the next day.

Get out of the mouse!

This actually makes the case clear for most users: Energy drinks are stupid anyway, Red Bull is the worst and then they produce them so sloppily that you could find whole mice in the cans. Scandal!

But not for us, because we have a little doubt...

Mimikama, the mouse detective

We stick to talking about a mouse, even if Josh Henley talks about a “dead rat” in the video. If we take a closer look at the video, especially the last images showing the mouse, we notice two things.

1. Considering that this mouse was canned during production and was in a full can of Red Bull during transport and storage, it still seems quite fresh.

2. The mouse even had enough time to drain a few pieces of meat before it passed away.

Those are two pieces of evidence, but are there more?

Mouse slipped!

In fact, Josh Henley apparently wasn't sure exactly what to say to the press about the video. The Mirror, for example, writes that Josh drank from the can and then spit out what felt like seeds to him, then he discovered the mouse.

to Metro sounded different: Josh drank half of the can in the car the night before and then left it there. The next morning he discovered the mouse as he was about to dump the rest of the can.

The mouse wanderer

Mice are a pretty big nuisance in parts of the USA, especially in rural areas like the state of Arkansas, which is not called “ The Natural State” for nothing. So it's not surprising that there are entire Internet pages that explain how to get rid of rats and mice in Arkansas.

It's moulting...

If we take all of these indications and facts together, we get a much more realistic scenario than that of a mouse getting into a can of Red Bull during beverage production, remaining quite fresh and not being discovered during safety checks in the factory.

Josh Henley left an open, half-drunk can of Red Bull in his car at night and apparently didn't notice that there was anything else in the can when he drank it for the first time. Especially in Arkansas, a rural state with a mouse problem, it is not unlikely that a mouse has smelled the sweet drink and forced its way through the engine compartment into the car and into the can. Bear in mind that it is still bitterly cold in the USA and small animals like to seek warmth under freshly parked vehicles.

So this mouse crawled into the can to eat, but couldn't get out by half swimming and finally slowly drowned in it, but still lived long enough to excrete a few mourning feces.

This at least explains the “freshness” of the mouse as well as the meat and anyone who knows mice knows what narrow openings they can squeeze through, including into cans.

A Red Bull spokesman said this to the press:

“It is unthinkable that a foreign object – let alone something of this size – would go through the process of modern beverage production.”
