“I'm mark The Director of Facebook” or “Hello, I'm Mark, the director of Facebook.”
This is how a message or status post begins, which is currently being shared again and again on Facebook.
First of all: Because of the current “data scandal”, Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg had to testify before the US Congress at the beginning of April 2018. The discussion about a paid subscription model also came up. However, a fee will not come soon because Zuckerberg is of the opinion that the ad-supported version is still the best.
In connection with this discussion, a chain letter is once again making the rounds on Facebook, which is unsettling many Facebook users.
This is the following message
Aha!
Mark Zuckerberg is writing to you directly. He tells you that all the rumors of the past have come true and Facebook is now becoming paid. But... you can continue for free if you send Mark's message to 18 different people from your friends list. And then the Facebook logo turns blue because you followed the instructions.
Now the “Facebook” translator has also struck!
The message in question is now also available in German!
And what's up with that now?
Absolutely nothing. Facebook currently has no plans to make the social network paid. Even if they had this plan, they definitely wouldn't announce it like that. It would be too unprofessional and clumsy to ask to send a rather clumsy text via PM in order to remain free of charge.
This type of chain letter has always existed!
Facebook itself writes in its help section:
Does using Facebook cost money? Is it true that Facebook will charge fees for using the website?
No. Facebook is a free website and will never charge fees for continued use of the site in the future.
However, you have the option to make purchases related to games, apps, and other items. If you choose to use Facebook from your mobile phone, remember that you are responsible for any charges associated with internet use and/or texting according to your mobile provider's terms and conditions.
