Attention, explicit images in the article!
A picture keeps appearing on Facebook called “The Kiss of Judas”. We are looking for clues about the origin and authenticity of the description of the picture.

According to the story that is spread with this picture, it is the breeder of the animal who was recognized by the animal in the crowd and to whom he is said to have fled in fear of death. But instead of protection, he received the “kiss of Judas” and was then sent to certain death in the arena.
Analysis:
The fact is that this is not a current picture, but was posted in 2012.

According to the story, the picture was spread in Spanish newspapers and called “The Kiss of Judas,” but despite an intensive search, nothing was found. Furthermore, the man is standing behind one of the protective walls that exist in a bullring, which contradicts the statement that he was said to have been in the audience. It is doubtful that a spectator can easily jump into the arena.
What is noticeable, however, is that most websites use the same story and the same images that are supposed to depict the bullfight.

Only it can't be the bull from the picture in question, because the bull in the picture above has brown fur, but the bull in the "kiss picture" has black fur. This picture is dated February 7, 2005, seven years before the picture in which the bull receives the telltale kiss.
The next image could represent the bull, which cannot be confirmed or refuted based on the image (crop, angle, etc.).

We found this picture on Pinterest, from where we were able to find a link to the website where it was posted in the picture frame according to the logo. Further information regarding the date and place of creation is still to be determined.
The last image in the story, which shows a dead bull lying on the arena floor, definitely has nothing to do with the image of the bull receiving the kiss.

We can rule this out for several reasons
Firstly, by the date: the picture was taken in April 2014, i.e. 2 years after the picture with the kiss first appeared, and the photographer of the picture confirmed to us that none of the bulls were kissed on the day it was taken. It can also be ruled out that it is related to the first picture, which shows the bullfighter doing his bloody work, as the date, the clothing and the animal do not match at all.
It is more obvious, and our colleague David Puente and Gaha Entertainment , that the man who kisses the bull is a so-called Recortadores . These are people who also face a bull in the arena, but do so completely unarmed. Their goal is to avoid the animal in an acrobatic manner.

In the picture, and also in this video, you can clearly see that the men are wearing the same T-shirt as the man kissing the animal.
Conclusion:
We cannot refute the story about the man sending the bull to certain death with a kiss, but we cannot confirm it either. However, the only logical conclusion is that while the image may be real, the story surrounding the Kiss of Judas false .
All the facts point to the fact that it is a recortadoes .
In the course of our research, we sent out various inquiries. As soon as these have been answered we will update the article.
