The claim
A simulation game in 2021 is supposed to be proof that a pandemic caused by the monkeypox virus is being planned.
Our conclusion
This simulation game really existed, but apart from the approximate time and the virus, the simulation game has nothing in common with the current situation. Such simulation games are carried out very often, but there is still no wave of pandemics.
For this article we have to briefly imagine ourselves in the mind of conspiracy believers: There are no coincidences, no natural chaos, but everything is already planned by certain powers, be it the Illuminati, lizard creatures in the hollow earth or extraterrestrials.
All misfortunes, catastrophes and pandemics have been controlled for centuries in order to… well… subjugate humanity? To make them slaves? And has it been that long? They are a little inefficient, these overlords. The current cases of monkeypox are also said to be just the precursor to a planned pandemic - but an actual coincidence is by no means the discovery of a conspiracy!
The monkeypox simulation game
Various articles and posts on social networks such as Twitter and Telegram claim that the appearance of monkeypox in several countries is not a coincidence, but was already planned as a “new pandemic” at the 2021 Munich Security Conference.

According to this plan, the pandemic started on May 15 and will cause 270 million deaths by the end of 2023.
This simulation game really existed: it took place during the Munich Security Conference in March 2021 (see HERE ).
Facts and fiction
The simulation game was organized by the NTI organization. However, the “Bill Gates Foundation” only has a very rudimentary connection with this: according to the PDF file for the simulation game (see HERE ), one of the participants in the simulation game was a Dr. Chris Elias, President of Global Development at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation - alongside 16 other participants.
Monkeypox has been known in Africa for decades. Such a simulation game is a scenario-based, moderated discussion that uses a fictional story to stimulate dialogue between practitioners and experts. The goal of this is to gain valuable insights into effective approaches to solving difficult problems.
Let's take a look at the simulation game scenario:

Here is the plan, which is supposedly a new pandemic plan, in bullet points:
- A monkeypox virus modified by a terrorist group that is resistant to vaccination
- Already at the beginning 1,421 illnesses and 4 deaths
- No official warnings or safety information
- 480 million illnesses, 27 million deaths within one year
- 3.28 billion cases, 271 million deaths by the end of 2023
Such simulation games have been carried out by the NTI since 2019. In 2019 it was based on a highly contagious variant of pneumonic plague (see HERE ), and in 2020 it was based on a dangerous flu virus that came from a bioweapons facility (see HERE ). The 2020 simulation game explicitly points out that it was developed in 2019 and has no connection to the corona pandemic - in fact, it is not only a different virus (the H2N2 flu virus), but the course is also completely different different.
NTI even explains in a post (see HERE ) why they chose the monkeypox virus for the 2021 simulation game (which was designed in 2020): They chose a pathogen with different characteristics than the SARS-CoV-2 virus to encourage exercise participants other than those already highlighted by the current pandemic.
Simulation games in general are nothing out of the ordinary. In recent years, other organizations have also conducted simulation games with coronaviruses , Ebola, measles, Zika , Rift Valley fever or the Akhmeta virus ... and yet no pandemics have arisen from them.
Conclusion
The NTI's simulation game is actually based on monkeypox, and the timing is roughly correct - and that's it. There is no sign that monkeypox is becoming a pandemic, nor is there even a hint of suspicion anywhere. Caution is urged and people are advised to pay attention to symptoms - but a pandemic is raging much stronger and deadlier, as we have all now experienced ourselves.
It's now mid-June, so the supposedly planned pandemic has been making our lives difficult for a month now, but we're a long way from that. On the contrary : There have been no deaths outside of Africa so far, 90 percent have recovered completely (regardless of whether with or without the smallpox vaccination), only the increasing number of cases is causing concern, but the virus is not considered a pandemic threat.

Interesting in this context:
The biggest advantage for us (and a disadvantage for the virus): Monkeypox disease is visible, often milder than normal smallpox and difficult to transmit.
– Monkeypox – Yes, there are several cases, but there is no need to panic
