An alleged newspaper clipping has been appearing again and again since March 2017: The BAMF is supposedly looking for extras for demonstrations against the right.

We always have the faint hope that we only have to clarify certain fakes once.
In an ideal world there would be peace afterward. But unfortunately, certain fakes are repeatedly unearthed and spread, and the stupid thing is: They are also believed again and again, so your own opinion always counts more highly than bare facts. This newspaper clipping, which says that the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) is looking for extras, is one such case.

Extras aren't really wanted

The alleged ad states:

Federal Office for Migration and Refugees

We are hiring:
Extras m/f

We are looking for corpulent people (male/female) for image and video recordings for demonstrations against the right and protests against deportations.

Remuneration: Minimum wage plus allowances, travel expenses and food.

Yes, we know more!

This is a very old “newspaper clipping” – which is fake. We already reported on the advertisement two years ago .

At that time, the text could still be found on the Daily Fake News – according to the company, “Satirical Daily News”. The account is now blocked .

The picture of the advertisement was published on Twitter on March 3, 2017, the tweet read

A tempting offer. Fat people = fat fairy lights #Lights  #Refugees #Luegenpresse  pic.twitter.com/kjV2MXVdjn
— Daily Fake News (@DFakeNews) March 3, 2017

asked the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees and received the following answer:

“The Federal Office distances itself from a job advertisement circulating on social media that is looking for extras for a video shoot. This ad is fake. You can find BAMF job offers on our website using the following link .”

“Maybe the ad was once real???”

No . What “Daily Fake News” didn’t take into account when creating the fake:

The BAMF is a federal authority of the Federal Republic of Germany. The federal authorities are bound by collective agreements to the public service collective agreement (TVöD), which was concluded with the collective bargaining union United Services Union (ver.di), represented by the federal executive board of ver.di based in Berlin. There are various collective agreements for this collective bargaining area, including the pay scale (TVöD-EGO), through which BAMF employees are grouped into one of 15 pay groups (E1 to E15) according to their activities.

Or in short: the BAMF should not offer the minimum wage as payment because the payment would be tied to collective agreements!

Conclusion

The creator of the fake job advertisement, apparently unaware of the complex salary structure and remuneration system of the public service in the Federal Republic of Germany, incorrectly stated “minimum wage” as the payment.

The “Daily Fake News” account, which has now been blocked by Twitter, spread – surprise – a fake , this ad never existed!
