Tiffany Dover, an American nurse from Tennessee, receives the Pfizer/Biontech COVID-19 vaccine in 2020 and faints during an interview. At the time, she was one of the first people in the United States to receive the vaccine. In an interview, she wanted to encourage others to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.
During the interview and in front of the cameras, she suddenly collapses. Several doctors who were also on site immediately rushed to help. Vaccine skeptics use the video to share it again and again and reinforce their doubts. Some even claimed that Dover died as a result of the vaccination and fainting.
We reported on this case in more detail HERE
Now Tiffany Dover is breaking her silence of more than three years and addressing the skeptics
“I'm alive, I'm fine. That is my simple message. I hope you believe me"
and
"I didn't die that day ," Dover told NBC News in her first interview since 2020, " but the life I knew did."
This was stated by Tiffany Dover in an interview with NBC News that aired Monday, April 10, 2023
Dover, who is also the focus of the NBC News podcast "Truthers: Tiffany Dover is Dead*," sparked anti-vaccination conspiracy theories when she fainted after a COVID-19 vaccination during a media appearance in December 2020. Even back then, she mentioned that she continued to suffer from fainting spells even when receiving other vaccinations.
Although Dover recovered from her fainting spell and spoke to the media at CHI Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, conspiracy theorists spread online the claim that Dover died from the vaccine. Self-proclaimed “Tiffany Truthers” even visited Dover at her Higdon home, and family members even received death threats over the incident.
“People thought I was dead or a paid actress for Big Pharma,” Dover told NBC News.
Conspiracy theories circulated online
Dover tried to convince the skeptics, but the CHI Memorial stopped them.
"I was told that 'irreparable harm' would be done if I spoke out and had another incident ," she said, referring to the hospital at the time.
Instead, the CHI Memorial released a video featuring Dover, but the conspiracy theories continued.
Dover already expressed the suspicion in 2020 that her silence had further fueled the conspiracy theories.
“It's hard to stomach being used to stop someone from getting a Covid vaccination, and that was difficult for me,” she admitted.
Dover blamed her silence for making the situation worse.
“I wish we had used [my fainting] as an opportunity to talk about fainting after injections or vaccinations. But that is no reason not to receive them,” she emphasized.
Speaking to NBC News, CHI Memorial denied the accusation that it had silenced Dover at the time. Dover left CHI Memorial last year and is now focused on rebuilding her life.
Dover also mentioned that she can't control what conspiracy theorists think about her.
“At that time I did what was necessary. I made it public that I was alive,” she explained. “It's up to them whether they believe me or not. All I can do is spread the truth.”
Dover hopes her openness will help debunk the conspiracy theories and restore confidence in vaccines. She emphasizes the importance of vaccinations for containing the pandemic and the safety of the general public.
