Our Watchlist Internet content partner reports on TikTok videos that lure people with free jewelry: “Storytime: Why I was fired and how I will take revenge” – these are the words that start numerous videos that are currently circulating on TikTok. Former employees of the jewelry brand Adellia talk about their dismissal and call for revenge by sharing a 100% discount code for adellia.de.

But be careful: it is a scam. Consumers pay too much for inferior fashion jewelry due to the high shipping costs.

TikTok videos entice you with free jewelry

Why so many were fired and now want to take revenge at adellia.de : Laura was a brand consultant for the jewelry brand Adellia for two years. A single Zoom call with her boss and other managers ended the employment relationship. The reason: “When I called my boss, I thought the camera was off. I was pulling on my vape the whole time and really blowing into the camera,” says Laura. Of course the camera was on. The termination followed promptly.

Now Laura says: Revenge is sweet. She tells her story on TikTok and at the same time publishes her discount code, which is still valid. A code that doesn't just deduct a few percent, but deducts a whole 100 percent. Laura asks her followers to use this code: “So take revenge with me and get free jewelry on this website: adellia.de. I don't deserve all of this."

Laura is not alone: Mia and Sina also smoked during a Zoom call and are now former Adellia employees. With Hanna it was the dog that suddenly licked her face. And a “sour lemon” also tells her story of termination and her feelings of revenge against adellia.de on Tiktok.

The reason why so many people want to take revenge on adellia.de: The stories are fictitious. It's a scam .

What happens if I enter the discount code on adellia.de?

We took Laura, Mia, Sina, Hanna, Saure Zitrone & Co. at their word and tried out the discount code: A look at adellia.de shows that it doesn't seem to be "cheap jewelry". Because the prices for necklaces, earrings, etc. are all in the three-digit range.

So we went on an online shopping spree and put jewelry worth 8,645 euros in the shopping cart. We entered LEA100 in the discount field and were amazed when 8,654 euros were actually deducted. However, there is a catch: the shipping costs are 500 euros. The more we order, the higher the shipping costs.

We didn't actually order. However, experiences from other consumers show that it is by no means expensive jewelry, but rather cheap costume jewelry that is delivered from Asia and costs 10 euros there. The value of the ordered goods would therefore be less than the shipping costs.

That's exactly the scammers' trick

The TikTok videos are intended to make consumers believe that they can order expensive jewelry for free on adellia.de and only pay the shipping costs. However, anyone who orders here pays too much for the actual value of the product. In addition, those affected report other problems that we also know from other so-called dropshipping shops: the order arrives much too late or not at all. Returns are difficult or involve high costs.
