It's another so-called sharepic that has a completely false statement and is floating around on Facebook.
It's not just any sharepic, but once again a picture from the Halle-Leaks blog. This image, as well as the article linked behind it, makes the following claim: “Court confirmed. Homeless people are outlawed and allowed to be killed by migrants.”
Nonsense!
Behind these statements is once again the typical binary representation of statements and opinions, as happens quite often on the blog website. A press release is used as a basis, which is interpreted excessively through certain mechanisms. The statements in the Facebook preview only know the extremes and deliberately want to present them that way. This happens simply through the high-contrast choice of white font on a black background.
The same applies here again: In order to understand the entire content and historical context, the source page must be visited. You can then see how this completely out of the air statement came about: The author of the blog article refers to an article from the Basler Zeitung from November 14th, 2018 with the title “Acquittal after killing a homeless person” ( compare )
This article talks about a man from Brazil stabbing a homeless man to death because the homeless man did not want to be converted to the Christian faith. According to the Basler Zeitung, it is of course clear to the judges that the criminal offense of murder has been met, but also that the man suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and is also dependent on cannabinoids.
Of course the man was NOT released again. Because of other crimes, he was given a conditional 90-day prison sentence; he first had to undergo inpatient treatment in a closed facility and was then expelled from the country.
Homeless people outlawed?
No of course not. As already mentioned, the criminal offense of murder was met by the court.
A refugee?
No. The person was not a refugee. The young man is a person who grew up in Brazil and wanted to move in with his mother who lives in Switzerland a few years ago. In a previous article, the Basler Zeitung wrote about him ( see also here ):
The defendant, who grew up with his grandparents in Brazil, came to Switzerland at the age of 16 and lived with his mother for the first time. After a year in Switzerland, he went back to Brazil for a year to get to know his biological father and then come back to Basel.
So what happened here?
The author of the blog article used a certain methodology to create a tendentious meaning of the situation, which is incorrect due to an extremely tendentious interpretation. There is no mention of outlaw homeless people or a refugee anywhere in the case.
Here again the typical methodology of how this type of statement was created can be seen. By the way, it's a method that runs like a common thread through a lot of the sharepics of the Halle Leaks blog:
- shorten
- radicalize
- leave out
- interpret
- twist
This is not the first time that we have been presented with the blog's statements for review and were therefore able to see beforehand how the statements are created. “If you are not for it, you are against it” is a motto.
As always, the conclusion for Sharepics from Halle-Leaks is: just because someone doesn't have a driver's license doesn't mean they hate the automotive industry. In most cases, the image constructed by Halle-Leaks with the help of quote images is not only grossly incorrect, but also dangerously manipulative: individual aspects are deliberately taken away from their context, are replanted in a context rich in contrast and are radicalized in their representation, so that they are no longer correct.
