The claim

A photo supposedly shows a littered train that was damaged by holidaymakers who took the 9-euro ticket to Sylt.

Our conclusion

The photo is from 2015, the train was vandalized by football fans.

At the beginning of May, a certain newspaper with oversized headlines and lots of pictures laid the foundation for a viral event: In an article they wrote that “ Sylt is in fear of the 9-euro vacationers ,” since everyone can now get to the “island of the island” cheaply “The rich and famous” could drive.
Nobody really intended that, but the headline created a viral trend to go to Sylt even more, including “ chaos days ” from June to August.
Of course, alleged evidence pictures should not be missing, which are intended to show how anti-social these evil Sylt vacationers are, and in this regard the photo of a littered train is shared - which, however, is already seven years old!

The photo of the littered train

This photo is shared on social networks with the claim that users of the 9 euro ticket damaged the train like this:

These weren't 9 euro ticket vacationers
These weren't 9 euro ticket vacationers

The photo is from 2015

The photo of the littered train spread seven years ago, in August 2015 (see HERE ), because at that time fans of the second division soccer team Eintracht Braunschweig rioted in several wagons on the way back from an away game in Bielefeld, which is why it was discussed a year later. to set up converted special trains to prevent damage caused by football fans (see HERE ).

The photo of the train littered and partially destroyed by football fans was also shared for a long time on Twitter:

Conclusion

This is again one of the photos where the claim is very easy for anyone to debunk: By doing a simple reverse image search with Google (we explain how to do this HERE ), you can find several articles in which the photo appears several years ago . So no rowdy 9 euro ticket holidaymakers in 2022, but football fans in 2015.
