As the Karlsruhe police announce, two passengers on the tram were slightly injured by a liquid.
According to the press release , a 19-year-old told the police on Wednesday evening that after taking the tram on line 1, he noticed redness or a rash on his thigh.
According to his description, he got into the line 1 car at the Mühlburger Tor stop at around 8:15 p.m. and sat down in a free seat. After he got off at the Albert-Braun-Straße stop, his thigh itched and stains were visible on his pants. At home he noticed redness, which was treated in hospital.
Based on the 19-year-old's description, the bench was able to be verified and removed for examination. A 27-year-old also reported a similar situation. According to her, she got on the line 5 train at Lameyplatz shortly after 5 p.m. on Monday and sat in a free seat.
She then noticed that the seat was wet and looked for another place. After about half an hour, she felt a severe burning sensation, so she sought treatment at a hospital.
The Karlsruhe-Mühlburg police station has taken over the investigation. It is not yet possible to say what type of liquid it is or how it got onto the seats. The clothing seized from the victims is being examined. The Karlsruhe transport company was informed of the incidents and is supporting the police investigation.
