Data collectors are trying to attract users to their website with a Tropical Islands competition. It seems as if it comes from Tropical Islands itself.
Facebook users often become aware of such competitions via fake Facebook pages. Pictures of the Tropical Islands resort are advertised and the user is promised 4 tickets.
The images shown are used without permission, the exclusive rights lie only with Tropical Islands. Accordingly, the competition on Facebook is not authorized.
The competition in detail
As is so often the case, this bait competition uses the pretext that the company is celebrating its “15th birthday”. Celebrate your birthday and give away 4 tickets. If you follow the link, you will be taken to a small survey that only consists of a single question.

If you now click on Next, you will be redirected to another website. The participant should now enter their data here. The small print now reveals the true goal of this competition - it is an affiliate link. Anyone who enters their data here must agree to the following:
I agree that the organizer and its partners will inform me about offers from their respective business areas via email and push notifications. I also agree that the organizer may pass on my data (name, email address) to the partners for this purpose. I can revoke my consent at any time (with effect for the future). Further information about this here. If you want to take part without advertising consent, that is also possible. Details here.
The competition is organized by red lemon GmbH. We already know these from other bait competitions. The competition ends on December 31st, 2025 (!!!).
Affiliate programs
We have often found EXACTLY THIS method, just with other vouchers as bait. In addition to red lemon GmbH, other lead generators also collect data - much to the annoyance of the companies used as decoys. So far we have mostly noticed 7sections, Proleagion, adpublisher, Green Flamingo, Lead Spot Media, GmbH and Planet49.

Affiliate programs in themselves are not illegal! This is a business model in which the respective provider of such programs compensates its sales partners through commissions. You can read exactly how this works under “ What is Affiliate ?”
Tropical Islands also warns against competitions that misuse the name of their company:
