Not so fast, Elon

As soon as Musk announced his exit, the company reacted immediately and made it clear that a quick exit from a binding contract was not so easy.

The official complaint to the Tesla boss shows that Twitter was apparently well prepared and cites Musk's tweets as evidence in 13 places, which make it clear that it was not Twitter but himself who violated certain agreements. Among other things, he personally responded to tweets from the Twitter boss with poop emojis, thereby damaging the company's reputation.

Fake accounts as a reason for termination

As previously reported , Elon Musk states that the much higher number of fake accounts than the numbers disclosed by Twitter is the reason for his withdrawal from the contract. However, according to financial law experts, this argument is not enough to simply get out of the contract, especially since he did not take part in the meetings offered in which the figures were to be explained.

There was nothing except expenses

A clause noted in the contract states that Musk must pay $1 billion in compensation if he is unable to raise the financing. However, this clause does not release him from the contract itself. The desired exit could therefore be significantly more expensive and amount to tens of billions, after the company has suffered considerable damage through various actions on its part and the resulting employee exodus.
