The farmers' protests in the Netherlands are currently making headlines in this country too: people are protesting against planned environmental regulations, which would lead to the closure of around 30 percent of livestock farms ( we reported ). Current topics promise a lot of likes, which is why some people don't shy away from posting apparently "exclusive" material (which the German press is of course silent about), but which is already years old - like this video of a tractor tearing down a police barrier .

The short video is circulating on Twitter and Facebook Holland currently farmers: police = 1:0 ”, “ The mail is going off in Holland today. A little foretaste! “ and “ What the German press doesn’t show you: civil war-like conditions in the Netherlands. The people there are not impressed by the politically loyal police... The citizens are no longer protected but are fought against. ” commented.
Neither currently nor from the Netherlands
In the background you can see a police vehicle with characteristic stripes - which belongs to the Belgian, not the Dutch, police.

Using screenshots from the video and a reverse image search, you can also find articles about the video, for example at “ La Libre ”:
“On Monday, some farmers tried to break through the roadblocks set up by the police. Our colleagues from RTBF were able to film one of these scenes.”
By the way, this is not a current description from the Netherlands, but from Brussels in July 2015 . At that time, thousands of farmers protested in Brussels against falling food prices, and the German press also reported on it .
Conclusion
There are actually many reports at home and abroad about the current farmers' protests in the Netherlands, through which you can obtain objective information about what is happening. However, sharing old videos and then claiming that “the German press isn’t showing it” is pure spreading misinformation.
And a “ But it could be like that ” doesn’t count either. There are actually farmers' protests in the Netherlands, but the claim that there are " civil war-like conditions " there is simply wrong - fortunately, things are not as bad as in Brussels in 2015.
