A video from Münster shows police officers checking two people.

A YouTube video is circulating that is supposed to show the alleged arrest of the gunman or an accomplice in Münster. It is now widely shared that the media and police comment on this. First of all: the video was actually recorded in Münster. You can definitely see the historic town hall. The police officers catch a young man, who then allows himself to be checked by the police.

The video often carries this privately added information:

Exclusive from an eyewitness from Münster: Police operation against Arab-looking men after the attack. Speech was in English: “get on the ground”

It has now been published: the man in the video has nothing to do with the crime! Der Spiegel quotes a spokeswoman for the Münster police:

“The matter cleared up quickly. Those involved had nothing to do with the crime.”

According to the police, the man and another person are Indians who initially did not understand what the police were saying. That is also the reason why they were then spoken to in English. After the personal details of the two men were established, they were able to move on.
