For days we have been receiving numerous inquiries about a video that keeps making the rounds on Facebook!
According to various media reports, a priest from France slapped a crying baby during a baptism!

In the video you can see the priest holding the child's face and asking for “quiet” before finally hitting the child.
The diocese itself has now banned the 89-year-old from all baptism and wedding ceremonies and spoke of a “loss of self-control” caused by “exhaustion of the elderly priest,” which “does not excuse” the man's actions. The incident took place in a church in Champeaux.
Priest apologizes!
According to the agency news, the priest apologized to the parents. but downplayed his actions in a radio interview. He meant, among other things
“It was between a hug and a little pat,” he said. He wanted to calm the baby and didn’t know what to do!”
The video was repeatedly reported by users on Facebook!
However, Facebook itself did not remove the video, but rather “pixelated” it and published it with the following (in this case meaningless) note:
“We didn't remove it from Facebook because it might help save the child in question. For more information on how you can help or get support, please visit the Help section .”
