There is no one truth. There are facts, opinions, feelings, beliefs and knowledge.

The cat is now out of the bag: Behind the large-scale social media campaign on the alleged online broadcaster “True Welle TV” is an educational project on the subject of conspiracy theories by the Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb) . The “True Wave” is not a 24-hour online TV channel ( we have reported ).

The Federal Agency for Civic Education writes about this on its website: Conspiracy theories have existed since the Middle Ages and offer people simple truths for complicated processes in the world. That is why they often come about in times of crisis or as a result of profound changes.

For example, after the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 in New York, conspiracy theories continued to circulate about who the masterminds of the incomprehensible act of terror could be. For several years now, conspiracy theories have been spreading primarily via the Internet and social media.

Ideas like the reptilian theory, which suspects lizard people are behind influential personalities like Angela Merkel, seem strange. Movements like those of the so-called Reichsbürger, on the other hand, are increasingly attracting attention through crimes - the Federal Criminal Police Office is currently warning of violence from the “Reichsbürger” scene.

This is a fictional online channel that addresses the most famous conspiracy theories in satirical clips.

Content

The idea of the project is to develop a low-threshold media educational offering that shows the logic of conspiracy theories and exposes the often absurd arguments. The instrument of satirical exaggeration is deliberately chosen here in order to promote media literacy and the ability to critically engage with political issues online.

To this extent, True Wave TV will address certain topics about which there are well-known conspiracy theories. Six short videos will be published that address the individual conspiracy theories in an entertaining way and, in a sense, explain them through self-exposure. One of these formats, for example, is the show “Look for the Scapegoat”.

This is “the show that really brings people together”. Regardless of whether your son has been Islamized and is now on the path of jihad or he has simply succumbed to gender madness: everything is clarified here and there is always a happy ending that warms the heart. In this episode, see how the expert and presenter leads an aggressive boy who was misled by Islamist propaganda back onto the right path and into the arms of his mother.

True wave? In the end, true enlightenment!
