We have known about such orange postcards for at least 8 years. We first HERE in . They are actually real postcards that apparently are often used by debt collectors. An Internet search for the specified phone number returns some results that clearly indicate that this is a tactic used by debt collection companies to pique recipients' curiosity and get them to contact you without providing any specific information.

Currently it is this orange postcard

MIMIKAMA
Warning about orange postcards in the mailbox

The text of the postcard verbatim:

“Please call urgently! Unfortunately I didn't meet you. I would be happy to come by again in the next few days. Please call me on 01712809860 or send me a message. I have an official document that I urgently need to discuss with you!”

We already know this phone number and the signature from 2020 , when we once again warned about such cards.

The orange postcard was already available in 2020 and in two different versions

There was also this note on the back:

You should call back the telephone number provided and, when asked, enter a personal code that is on the card. The Brandenburg police also issued a warning about this at the time. By entering this a subscription is confirmed, which may incur costs!

The current negative reviews, given number 01712809860, indicate that it could be a dubious debt collection agency!

It is unclear what intentions lie behind the postcards. However, based on the statements of many users, there do not seem to be any valid claims. Additionally, some of the names in the addresses on the cards are misspelled. Due to the long-standing use of opaque postcards, the seriousness of this approach is questionable. A clear presentation of the matter in a proper letter would be more effective here.

If you have any doubts, you should contact a debt counseling center. There are many public and reputable debt counseling centers that are listed by federal state, for example here: https://www. Schuldnerberatungen.org
