The claim

In a secretly recorded video, Klaus Schwab is said to have admitted that the World Economic Forum (WEF) has all politicians, media and experts “in its pocket”.

Our conclusion

The video is from 2007, is originally 16 minutes long and was published by the WEF itself. In the interview, neither in the question to Schwab nor in his answer can it be heard or interpreted that in the video excerpt he lists everyone that the WEF “ has in its pocket ” - he simply counts all stakeholders, i.e. interest groups, on.

For some people it is clear that the World Economic Forum and its founder Klaus Schwab is a linchpin for a “New World Order”. Now the WEF founder is said to have even admitted in a secretly filmed video that they “ have politicians, the media and, above all, the experts and scientists in their pockets ”.

The claim

You can't help but think it was a coordinated effort - either that, or no one actually saw the video and just copied the text, because from mid-January onwards, tweets appeared verbatim with the wording:

MIMIKAMA
Numerous tweets with the same wording (Source: Twitter )

“President of the WEF Klaus Schwab: “We all have them in our pockets, politicians, media and especially the experts and scientists.” Mr. Schwab had no idea that he was being filmed with a hidden button camera and brags about the puppets he has in the Davos Mafia -bag has"

A video is always attached to the tweets:

What Schwab says in the video

In the video he says:

“We have, if I look at our stakeholders, we have business of course as a very important audience, and we have politics. We have continuous partnerships with many governments around the world, and of course we have NGOs, we have trade unions, we have all those different parts, media of course, and very important, experts and scientists and academia, because if we are looking at “The future, I think we should look at new solutions, and the new solutions will be very much driven by technological developments.”

In German:

“When I look at our stakeholders, of course we have business as a very important audience, and we have politics. We have ongoing partnerships with many governments around the world, and of course we have non-governmental organizations, we have unions, we have all these different sectors, of course the media, and very importantly, experts and scientists and academics, because as we look to the future , I think we should look for new solutions, and the new solutions will be very much driven by technological developments.”

Stakeholders are people, groups or institutions who are directly or indirectly affected by a company's activities or who have an interest in these activities. The stakeholders try to influence a company, which in turn tries to satisfy the demands of the stakeholders (the so-called stakeholder approach).

If you haven't noticed yet: there's no word about " having it in your pocket "!

The complete video – by no means secret!

The video is so incredibly secret and filmed with a hidden camera that the World Economic Forum itself published it on YouTube in January 2007:

In the video, Schwab presents the World Economic Forum from his headquarters in Geneva, talking about the annual meeting in Davos and the various interest groups.

The entrepreneur Loïc Le Meur , who has been working on the WEF's official weblog since 2004, asks Schwab at position 3:42 :

“So who do we have as work clubs in the different meetings, what type of stakeholders do we have in the constituencies?”

In German:

“So who do we have in the various working group meetings, what kind of stakeholders do we have in the districts?”

Schwab then gives Le Meur a list of the various stakeholders.

So the question doesn't even contain a hint of the claim about who the WEF “has in its pocket”.

Conclusion

Rating: FALSE

The other way around is a problem:
a company does not have the stakeholders in its pocket , but rather the other way around, because if a company, in this case the WEF, does not work to the satisfaction of the interest groups, it loses support. This is a principle of strategic management.

From Schwab's list it is actually very clear that the WEF has to satisfy a wide variety of interest groups at the same time and receives praise and of course criticism from these parties. The supposedly desired “New World Order” doesn’t really fit into the concept – unless you live in the world of conspiracy myths, where science, media and politics are all in cahoots and there is no sense of competition.

Neither in the question to Schwab nor in his answer can it be heard or interpreted that he is listing everyone that the WEF “ has in its pocket ” in the video excerpt.

Also interesting: Hugo Boss has apparently announced that it will donate 100,000 uniforms to Ukraine, and that is exciting because the company is said to have designed the Nazi uniforms during the Second World War.
But both claims are false! – Hugo Boss does not donate uniforms to Ukraine!
