Isn't it wonderful? Little Lukas(5) with a bull ring in his nose, little Lisa(4) with a tribal tattoo on his neck. And where did they get that from? Of course from the Christmas children's piercing.

What, you don't know the Christmas children's piercing in Rostock? This wonderful event where parents can finally have their more or less pretty children pierced and tattooed to a high gloss?

According to the organizer “Bonsai-Katzen Deutschland eV”, the Christmas children’s piercing is now taking place for the 23rd time. Accompanied by a colorful supporting program, children are embellished. The event is apparently sponsored by the children and youth committee of the Rostock district council.

Let's put it this way: Yes, this event exists. But only on Facebook. Nowhere else. Because the Christmas children's piercing is a form of trolling:

Fact check Christmas children's piercing

Don't worry, this event is fictional. You basically notice that when you read the accompanying text. At the end you will find, for example, Prof. Dr. S. Atire:

We look forward to seeing you!

Prof. Dr. S. Atire,
Rostock District Health Office

But the organizer name “Bonsai-Katzen Deutschland eV” also says where the wind is blowing from: This name has already caused trolling in the past ( compare ). And that should also be the goal of the Christmas children's piercing.

If you look at the comments and contributions, you could say “mission accomplished”. You'll find two types of commenters: some get into it and play along, others don't notice the trolling and show a certain amount of indignation (much to the amusement of the other group).

Trolling on Facebook

Trolls – many people always think of “evil” profiles that unload their hatred on social media. But that description doesn't do the trolling justice. Trolling can be anonymously constructive or just fun and funny.

Not every troll is a bad internet bully. Not at all, a lot of trolling is an important part of internet pop culture and therefore also contributes to amusement.

And at this point we find ourselves with the Christmas children's piercing: There is a trolling behind it. People enjoy this story, but also enjoy those who are upset about it. These unintentionally become part of the trolling.

What exactly is behind all the trolling is explained in this video .
