Legal matters made understandable!
We keep reporting on various warnings. But what exactly is a warning? A warning is the legal form of asking someone to refrain from doing something. The purpose is to resolve matters or disputes without the matter having to go to court.
Usually it is a matter of something being viewed as a violation of the law and objected to. The person warned should not do exactly that again. That's why warnings usually also contain "cease and desist" statements that the person being warned should make so that the matter can be dealt with - so they should declare in writing: "I'll never do that again".
There is usually also a so-called contractual penalty in the cease and desist declaration. This stipulates that the person warned must pay a fine if they repeat the behavior complained about and thus violate the cease-and-desist declaration.
And because this is sometimes confused: a warning is not a criminal complaint or a court order and certainly not a court judgment!
