Are you in the “Always the latest model” group or are you more in the “I love my old smartphone” group? If you belong to the latter, it could be that it will soon be one app easier, because Meta is discontinuing WhatsApp support for a total of 47 models at the end of the year.

WhatsApp releases updates frequently, and occasionally older devices can no longer keep up. For example, the widely used messaging app has no longer worked on iPhones with iOS 10 and iOS 11 since October 24th. Once again, only two iPhones will lose access to the messaging app, alongside a number of old Android smartphones.

The affected devices are several years old and are probably only rarely used. Nevertheless, there are probably still enough people who perhaps bought such older smartphones so that they could have one at all or who, for example, used their old smartphone.
