Beware of the WhatsApp message: “At Edeka, Christmas reaches everyone”
As every year, dubious competitions are sent out via WhatsApp shortly before Christmas. This year too. Apparently you can get an 800 euro voucher card from Edeka.
Danger! There is no voucher card hidden behind the supposed competition, which did NOT come from EDEKA, but the recipient is either faced with an expensive subscription trap or, in the worst case, a Trojan!
It is this message:

If you tap on the message, you will be redirected to a website that looks as if you were on the EDEKA website. This is intended to create trust, but the website was NOT from Edeka. You can also recognize it by the URL that points to *.RU.

After answering a few questions, you still have to send the message to countless WhatsApp contacts. This function also creates the original message that you have already received from an existing contact. Only when you have forwarded the message to 20 contacts can you complete the supposed “competition”.

If you tap “Complete” in the WhatsApp message, several more browser windows open again and again. There you can see everything, except NO COMPETITION from EDEKA, where at the end you get a voucher card from Edeka. During our test, in addition to dubious "subscription trap apps", we were also informed that there was a "cleaning update" for our smartphone and that you could use it to "clean" your phone and make it faster, or that a dubious casino opened up. site as well as a private dating platform.
Other users, in turn, ended up on a competition form, which ultimately involves trading user data!

Conclusion:
WhatsApp users are lured into a trap under false pretenses. Fraudsters pose as “Edeka” and promise users a voucher card. However, this is not true. The aim of the fraud is for gullible users to fall into expensive subscription traps or even, in the worst case, to catch a Trojan, which in turn can attack the owner's private data! Edeka competitions are also published on the official website . However, this alleged competition cannot be found there.
