LIDL has often been used as the alleged organizer of a competition. The alleged raffles are often distributed via WhatsApp, but also on Facebook. You can find our reports on this HERE .

“Lidl food price subsidy”

Now there is a fake competition circulating on WhatsApp. The message is sent with a logo of the supermarket chain, information is given about a “food subsidy” and that a “cash campaign” is running here.

Here the fraudsters behind the competition have once again discussed current events.
The topic of saving and price increases in many areas is omnipresent, so a food price subsidy would come in handy. But this is not a LIDL competition. Only the logo and the brand name are used here without permission. There is nothing about it LIDL's official website either

The link already gives an indication that LIDL itself is not behind the message. Official companies usually use links that also clearly identify the sender. “bewilderaesthetic.top” is not a LIDL domain.

If you click on the link, you will be taken to the usual loop for such competitions. A look at the URL in the browser bar shows that we are again on a page that apparently has nothing to do with LIDL itself.

Answer questions, fill in his contacts

First you have to answer a few very simple questions. Once you have done this, the answers will be checked and you will be informed whether you are eligible for the possible prize. What a surprise, of course you do that. Always. You can never give wrong answers, you are always a winner in such fake competitions.

However, in order to receive your winnings, you first have to tell your friends about the campaign. There is a hurdle at this point. You can only move forward if you send a message to a predetermined number of WhatsApp contacts or groups.

But then you win!

HA! Profit? Yes, for the scammers behind the competition

Because at the end you get to a page where you can download games. On the one hand, we are a long way from LIDL and an alleged food price subsidy, but on the other hand, should we now download games? That alone is more than questionable. But if you read the text, you quickly see what it all boils down to: This is where you include a subscription for mobile games. For €4.99 per week!

Conclusion

The competition has nothing to do with LIDL. And there's nothing to win there either!

If you accept everything that is presented to you until the end, you will have a subscription for mobile games on your hands, for which you can pay €4.99 a week.
In addition, you can assume that you will receive spam in the future and, in the worst case, you will also download malware onto your cell phone.

What is also noteworthy here is that the same “final result” is currently circulating in a fake competition in the name of ÖBB: HERE
