A message that is currently spreading via WhatsApp claims that Müller wants to show his lavishness on his 69th anniversary. What's true about it is the anniversary. The company was founded in 1953 . – But that was it.

Suspicious link does not lead to official website

“www.mueller.de” is listed in the message. However, the link itself is cryptic gibberish and leads to a process that is common for such fake competitions.

First you have to answer a few simple questions, then you are presented with nine packages, one of which is a prize. Of course you can get a great price on the second try. You can then share the good news with 20 of your WhatsApp contacts or 5 of your WhatsApp groups (increases the spread of the fake competition).

After you have annoyed your friends with it, you continue and you are informed that you now only have to “carry out one last step”.

Register and download an app

Now you should register an application and then leave it open for 30 seconds. You will also receive a notice here that you have won 200 euros in “PayPal cash” and that you need the “MoneyWell” app to get this money paid out.

Hands off!

This supposed competition has nothing to do with the drugstore trade. The company itself warns about this on its website :

ATTENTION – CURRENT FAKE COMPETITION
There is currently a fake competition circulating online where you can win €2,000. The competition is designed in Müller Design, but is not affiliated with Müller Handels GmbH & Co. KG. Please do not enter this competition or provide any personal information.”

There's nothing to win here. You end up installing a dubious app and, in the worst case, getting malware on your phone.

If you receive such a message, simply ignore and delete it. Do not forward it and it is best to inform the sender that it is fake.
