Communities are a new way to organize existing chat groups and manage them. You can create multiple chat groups in one community! WhatsApp announced this in a post and wrote:

WhatsApp: Now new > Communities

As we shared the beginning of the year This major update aims to improve the way people connect on WhatsApp in the groups that matter to them. Today we're excited to announce that Communities on WhatsApp is rolling out globally. This update will be available to everyone in the next few months.

Communities such as neighborhoods, school parents, and companies can now bring multiple groups together in one place to organize group conversations on WhatsApp. Here's how: Tap the New Communities tab in your chats; You can find this at the top of the screen on Android and at the bottom of the screen on iOS. There you can then create a new community or add existing groups.

Once you're in a community, you can easily switch between existing groups to get all the information you need at any time. Admins can also send important updates to everyone in the community.

With Communities, we want to raise the bar for how companies communicate privately and securely with each other - in a way that hasn't been possible before. The alternatives available today require people to trust apps and software companies with a copy of their conversations. We believe there is a need for a higher level of security enabled by end-to-end encryption.

Today we're also releasing three additional features that users will definitely be excited about: the ability to create polls in chats, have video calls with up to 32 people, and create groups with up to 1,024 users. Just like emoji reactions , larger file sharing, and the admin delete option, these features can be used in any group. However, they are particularly helpful for communities.

We currently work with over 50 organizations in 15 countries to develop communities and tailor them to their needs. We are very pleased with the feedback so far that the new tools help groups like these to better organize themselves and achieve their goals. We have a lot more to do. So there will be more new functions to come in the next few months. For now, we can't wait to share this update and look forward to your feedback.
