introduced a new way to react to messages in May 2022 with Reactions . Instead of replying to incoming messages via text or voice message, you can now add “reactions” (emojis) to them. (We reported here )

If someone sends you a reaction, WhatsApp will inform you about it with a push notification. If you are also in some groups where there are a lot of contacts, these push notifications can quickly become annoying. However, these push notifications can be deactivated. And this for individual but also for group chats.

How to deactivate WhatsApp push notifications for emojis

Tap the “3 dots” in the top right and then tap “Settings”

In this menu tap on “Notifications”

Now tap the activated green “Reaction notifications” switch so that it turns gray.

Repeat this step for the “Reaction notifications” menu item in the “Groups” section.
