Just like on Facebook and Instagram, you also have the option of downloading your data on WhatsApp. These include profile information, contacts and much more.
Thats how it works:
- Tap the three-dot menu at the top right of your app in the Android version or the gear at the bottom right in the iOS version.
- Now select “Settings” in the Android version. In the iOS version you can get there directly.
- Now type “Account” and
- “Request account information”
- Now tap “Request Report”.
- Now you have to wait until the report is available then tap on “Download Report”. (Note: It may take up to 3 days for all your data to be compiled).
Now you have to choose how you want your report to be displayed. (Note: You can download a ZIP folder with your data. The included JSON file can then be opened with a text editor or a browser. The report will be available to you for one month)
