After a WhatsApp update, the battery is empty and this causes dissatisfaction among users!

Many app users' cell phone batteries are empty: WhatsApp update 2.19.308 was launched at the beginning of October. New features have been introduced here, such as protecting private conversations and group chats with a fingerprint lock.

However, more and more WhatsApp users are reporting that they have to charge their battery significantly more often since this update. OnePlus devices are particularly hard hit, The Independent found. Huawei, Xiaomi and Google Pixel users also report this problem. Only iPhone users do not appear to be affected.

Problems sending images or videos

Further comments on the English-language Google Play page show that not only is the increased battery usage a problem, but some users are also having problems sending pictures and videos via WhatsApp. When sending the media, an error message appears stating that the corresponding file “does not exist on this device”.

Although all those affected communicate their dissatisfaction in the Google Play Store or on social media platforms and WhatsApp has been linked here several times, no one from the developers has yet commented on it. There was also no response to direct inquiries from the Independent.
