The WHO (World Health Organization) now classifies the spread of the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus as a pandemic. WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said this on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, in Geneva.
In addition, schools in Austria will be closed starting next Monday! In detail it looks like this:
From Monday, March 16, 2020, there will be no school until Easter from the 9th grade, this was announced by the Austrian Chancellor. Classes will continue digitally.
From Wednesday, March 18, 2020, it will affect children up to 14 years old, as children from kindergartens, primary schools and lower secondary schools. The idea here is to switch teaching to supervision. Those who can stay at home stay at home - for others there is care at school. Note: Children may not be brought to grandparents.
For those over 14, schools close, but classes continue. This is what Education Minister Fassmann said. We will “need an extra regulation” for high school graduates. Schools remain open for those under 14 who are not cared for at home.
