Elizabeth II has to cancel important appointments more and more often. She was able to accompany the change at the top of the government this week, even if only from her country estate in Scotland.

Now the doctors are worried about the Queen.

A palace spokesman said: " Following a further assessment this morning, the Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended that she remains under medical observation ."

New British Prime Minister Liz Truss also said on Twitter: "My thoughts - and the thoughts of the people of our United Kingdom - are with Her Majesty the Queen and her family at this time."

Buckingham Palace said in a statement :

“Following a further examination this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned about Her Majesty’s health and have recommended that she remains under medical supervision.
The Queen remains at Balmoral and feels comfortable there.”

BBC has interrupted its regular programming and is currently reporting on new findings.
