In the hustle and bustle of the online world and the cascade of social media posts, we are repeatedly confronted with statements and claims that have an extraordinary reach. They are usually emotionally charged, polarizing and intended to stimulate or provoke thought. Such a viral message, which is currently circulating on social networks in German-speaking countries, has led to numerous user inquiries! We want to examine this message, decipher it and provide appropriate counterarguments.

RIP Germany / You are too soft for immigrants and too hard for our people
RIP Austria / You are too soft for immigrants and too hard for our people
RIP Switzerland / You are too soft for immigrants and too hard for our people

It's about this posting with " RIP Germany, Austria, Switzerland" and "You are too soft for immigrants"

You are too soft for immigrants and too hard for our people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You have made the cost of living so high that both parents are always working instead of spending time with their children.
You have taken God out of school. Empty the churches. Parents were told,No, you can’t punish your children.” Well, you will reap what you sow and we have lost an entire generation and turned them into rude, selfish, disrespectful snots who have no respect for the people, their property, etc. People with terminal illnesses and some with only a few months left to live…Fit for work!!! They leave our pensioners homeless and hungry, but spend millions on foreign aid!!!
You deprive people of their well-being, make them so desperate that they no longer know what to do next and commit suicide!!!
You bend over backwards to be politically correct!!!
Too scared to say enough is enough!!!You describe reality with lies! Hard work is rewarded with gigantic taxes! Security/climate are the most used words to restrict us, take our money out of our pockets, and force us to adapt our way of life to your standards!!! You raise the retirement age so that people have to work until they retire! People rely on charity and food donations while helping others. Our generation of pensioners counts on the pension to which they are entitled and have worked for a very long time and have to work in old age, which is actually not possible, until they are 70.
That is the alms of today's pension that they receive today, that is it Thanks for your years of hard work!!! These cases and conditions must change fundamentally and urgently!!! Stop the witch hunt for our people, but give help and support to all taxpayers so that Germany becomes safe, livable and prosperous for the common man/woman/diverse on the street as it once was!!
Copy & paste if you're brave!!!

First, a brief overview of what awaits us in this message

It begins with a deep sigh: “Rest in peace, Germany! Or Austria! Or Switzerland!” and then denounces various grievances that, in the author’s eyes, affect our society. From immigration policy to the cost of living, the education system, social and pension policy to issues such as religiosity, a colorful mix of complaints are presented here.

“Too soft for immigrants, too hard for our people”

The beginning of the statement hits at the heart of an emotionally charged debate: immigration. It is indeed a topic that can heat up people's minds. But is it really the case that we are “too soft” on immigrants and “too hard” on our own people?

One thing must be clear: immigration is not inherently good or bad. It depends on how it is handled. Immigrants can and often do make important contributions to the economy. They bring new skills and ideas that enrich and advance our society. Without them, many important positions in various areas of our economy could not be filled.

However, it would be naive to claim that there are no challenges in integrating immigrants. These are not only due to the supposed “softness” of our policies, but to a number of factors. Language barriers, cultural differences, lack of training and job opportunities are just some of the obstacles that need to be overcome.

Regarding the claim that we are “too hard” on our citizens, it should be noted that this “being hard” is often a necessary evil. Without taxes there would be no public services and no infrastructure. The question is rather how the taxes are collected and spent.

“Cost of Living, Education and God in School”

There is also criticism that the cost of living is so high that both parents have to work instead of spending time with their children. This is a real problem that needs to be thoroughly investigated and resolved. However, it is wrong to use this as a pretext for a sweeping attack on the system.

The claim that “God has disappeared from school” is another generalization that does not correspond to reality. Religion is still taught in most schools in Germany, although the exact structure of religious instruction varies from state to state. Differentiation is therefore important.

“Social assistance, pension policy and taxes”

The creator of the status post, who is unknown to us, also denounces the social and pension system. Indeed, these areas are not without challenges. Whether it's about better tailoring welfare to people's needs or reforming pension policy to share the burden more fairly, there is plenty of room for improvement. But blanket condemnations don't get us anywhere. What is needed are constructive suggestions and political solutions.

“Climate and Security”

It is also claimed that “security” and “climate” only serve to restrict us and take money out of our pockets. It is precisely these topics that require our full attention. Security is a basic need for all citizens and climate is a global challenge that affects us all.

The Attraction of Viral Social Media Posts: A Look Behind the Scenes

We've all seen it on social media - a social media post that has gone viral, evoking strong emotions and encouraging people to agree and share. But what makes these posts so irresistible? Why do we feel so strongly drawn to express our approval and share it with our network? Let's take a look at the psychology behind these viral posts.

The starting point is the above-mentioned viral message that is currently circulating on social networks in German-speaking countries and reads “Rest in peace Germany! Or Austria! Or Switzerland!” begins. The text, full of emotional statements and criticism of various aspects of society, has achieved a remarkable reach. But why does this message appeal to so many people? What are the mechanisms behind this viral spread?

The power of emotions

One of the key elements that make a post go viral is emotion. Scientific studies have shown that emotionally charged content is more likely to be shared than neutral content. Emotions are a powerful catalyst that makes us respond to content and share it with others. And it is precisely this message that appeals to strong emotions such as frustration, anger and fear.

Sense of community and identity

Sharing a post can also serve to strengthen our sense of belonging and affirm our identity. By sharing a post that expresses our views and feelings, we show others who we are and what is important to us. It is a way to connect with others who share our views and express our feelings.

Simplicity and directness

Viral posts are often characterized by their simplicity and directness. They use clear and understandable language and cover complex topics in a way that is easy to understand and share. The post we analyzed is a good example of this. She presents a range of complex social and political issues in a direct and easy-to-understand manner.

Conclusion

The messages we examined express the disappointment and fear of many people. However, it raises a number of questions that are not easy to answer. Instead of getting lost in polemics, we should take the opportunity to have a constructive and informed debate on the issues raised. This is the only way we can find solutions together and change our society for the better.

The appeal of viral social media posts is a combination of emotion, sense of community, and simplicity. They speak to our deepest feelings and fears, make us feel like we are part of a community, and make complex topics accessible in an easy-to-understand way. Understanding these mechanisms can help us be more critical of the content we see and share online and contribute to healthier and more informed discussion on social media.
