It's quite a "scandal": a politician didn't hatch from an egg and was prepared for a life as a politician from an early age, but previously had a career as an actor and comedian.
This has never happened before *cough*Reagan*cough*. But that apparently upsets certain people who want to deny him his recent political abilities.

A common sharepic

This picture with an almost naked Zelenskyj (spoiler: behind the guitar he is wearing underpants) and another man is being distributed:

Zelenskyj, another man and guitars
Zelenskyj, another man and guitars

The text on the sharepic reads:

An old saying goes,
“When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn’t become a king; but the palace becomes a circus.”

The origin of the photo

The photo is a still image from a video of a certain format; the number “95” can still be seen at the top right as part of the logo. Here is the full video of the format called “Студия Квартал 95” (Studio Quad 95):

The dialogue between Zelensky and his sketch partner Yevgeniy Koshevoy begins with the words “Ща попробуем описать вам 14 год ребята” (“Let's try to describe the year '14 to you”). After a little dialogue, the two then sing a “political gangster rap” in which they rip off various politicians.

Before Zelensky was appointed sixth President of Ukraine on May 20, 2019, he had an extensive media career behind him: After completing his law studies, he was an actor, producer, screenwriter, voice actor... and comedian.

Zelenskyj, the politician

It's fair to say that his election as President of Ukraine was not without controversy: he has no political experience whatsoever and was heavily pushed into office . This also fueled fears that that oligarch, Ihor Kolomoisky, might influence Zelensky's policies too much.

However, these fears did not come true. On the contrary, Ihor Kolomoisky and Volodymyr Zelenskyj tend to go in different directions : The oligarch used to describe himself as a patriot, but in recent years he has been striving for a partnership between Russia and Ukraine (quote Kolomoisky: “ Then NATO will shit itself and Buy Pampers “), while Zelenskyj advocated being independent from Russia from the start.

But Zelensky's efforts to resolve Russia's conflict with eastern Ukraine, his election promise, have been unilaterally ended since February 24, 2022: through Russia's military offensive against Ukraine.

At this point at the latest, Zelensky could have given up and fled abroad, as was offered to him, but instead, as diplomats say , he showed a cool head. " To be honest, he's not doing too badly. “He has an impossible job, he’s caught between the pressures of both the Russians and the Americans ,” said a diplomat, who was certainly impressed with how Zelensky is handling the situation.

Conclusion

So the Ukrainian president, who is currently in a forced war with Russia, which is logically an extremely difficult position, actually used to work as a comedian and actor. These are not really the best conditions and are not a secret either.

The Sharepic's statement would be entirely justified - if it were 2019 and Zelenskyj had just been elected, because at that point it was not at all clear how he would do as president. But now it is 2022, Ukraine has been overrun by Russia with a war, and Zelensky is showing political skill and not “clowning in a circus.”

Also interesting: “OMG, look at this, an old photo of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj at a gay parade in 1991!
Awesome, right??” – Such a photo is currently circulating on WhatsApp, and it’s not entirely clear to us what the scandal would be. – Zelenskyj at a gay parade – fake, and even if it were so?
