UETTINGEN, LKR. WURZBURG. An 18-year-old car driver was seriously injured in a traffic accident on State Road 2310 on Friday evening. The other party involved in the accident is currently on the run. The accident was recorded by the Würzburg-Land police station.
According to current information about the accident, an 18-year-old from the Würzburg district drove his Peugeot on state road 2310 from Holzkirchen towards Uettingen on Friday evening around 7 p.m.
There were two 19-year-old acquaintances in the vehicle. In a curve area, the 18-year-old was met by a dark car on his road, which forced him to swerve to the right. As a result, he lost control of his car, went left into the ditch there, where he rolled over and came to rest on its roof in the adjacent field.
The 18-year-old was thrown from the vehicle and seriously injured.
After receiving emergency medical treatment, he was taken to hospital by ambulance. The two 19-year-old passengers were also injured and transported to nearby hospitals.
The Peugeot suffered material damage amounting to 2,500 euros. The car had to be towed away.
The dark car that was approaching the 18-year-old fled the scene of the accident. According to an uninvolved witness, it was a dark car with two people in it, presumably a Mercedes, which then turned into a residential area in Holzkirchen.
The accident was recorded by the Würzburg-Land police station with the support of the Uettingen fire department. The police are now hoping for information from the public in their further investigations.
