The claim

There is a claim that 4 robots killed 29 scientists in a laboratory in Japan.

Our conclusion

The source is a ufologist and follower of various conspiracy myths who learned this from an unknown Marine. Ultimately, there is no evidence to support the authenticity of the killer robot narrative, but there are some logical errors that argue against its authenticity.

The uprising of the machines – actually something that is still missing from the big catastrophe bingo, right?
This missing cross appears to reflect a circulating claim that 4 robots killed 29 scientists in a lab in Japan. But there is no evidence, media reports, witness statements or anything like that - just a well-known advocate of conspiracy myths.

The claim

The story of the violent robots has been circulating for years, but in the last few days it has been widely spread again:

The claim can often be found on Facebook alone
The claim can often be found on Facebook alone

Accordingly, two of the robots were dismantled, one was only switched off and another was partially dismantled. The latter is said to have connected to a satellite, downloaded the assembly instructions there and reassembled itself.

The robot then brought his three colleagues back into shape before they killed 29 scientists with "metal bullets" - which was reported by a " well-known and respected reporter " named Linda Moulton Howell (which is already a mistake, her last name is Howe). .

Is this good science fiction material or what? A widespread video with Howe's statements is even said to show the robots:

In the Instagram video, the above-mentioned Linda Moulton Howe can be seen, who talks about the process as described above, in between there are short videos with robots that give the impression that they are the “killer robots “ is from the story.

Who is Linda Moulton Howe?

According to her website (see HERE ), Howe is a Stanford-educated journalist who initially focused on environmental issues but then switched to UFO issues, for which she was, for example, interviewed by Erich v. in 2017. Däniken received the Stellar Citizen Award for outstanding achievements in investigative journalism about UFO phenomena.

What was the speech about?

The original video of the speech is no longer available on YouTube, but we were able to use the Wayback Machine to find a secured version that can also be played (see HERE ). So if you have an hour and a half to spare, you're welcome to watch the lecture; for everyone else, we'll briefly summarize it here.

Her lecture, which she gave in February 2018 ( so not current! ) at the “Conscious Life Expo 2018” in Los Angeles, mainly revolves around the dangers of artificial intelligence, stories about encounters with aliens, abductions and alternative dimensions.

Right at the beginning, however, Howe talks about the robots, although in the overall scope of the lecture they seem more like a footnote - which is all the more astonishing since it is actually a really sensational report:

“On Saturday, August 26, 2017, not long ago, I received a call from a whistleblower in the intelligence world who I have known for about a year and a half.
He is an honorably discharged Marine, but he continues to work on contracts with the CIA, NSA and DIA agencies. I have notebooks all over my house, in my office, in my car, everywhere so I can write down a phone call that I can't record or that I'm not in my studio for. So I wrote this down almost word for word.”

The above-mentioned story then follows.

The robots in the video

These have nothing to do with Howe's story.

  • The shooting robot comes from a 2017 CNN report (see HERE on YouTube) about a humanoid robot that the Russian Foundation for Advanced Research Projects was working on
  • The Somersaulting Robot Comes from a 2019 video (see HERE ), the company “Boston Dynamics” advertised it as “the most dynamic humanoid robot in the world”

Why the story is more than improbable

  • Howe does not name the source of the information, nor the name of the laboratory, nor any name of any of the scientists killed
  • Of course, reports of this have been “ suppressed by the government ,” but there are also absolutely no reports, not even perhaps fake ones, about 29 scientists who suddenly disappeared from the scene
  • Howe didn't go into detail about the story, even though it would be a sensation in itself... it just functions as an anecdotal introduction to her follow-up topic, the dangers of artificial intelligence

The speech then goes from artificial intelligence to encounters with aliens (the main part of the lecture) to the conclusion, which returns to the beginning: that humans were created by aliens through genetic manipulation and that we are, so to speak, the androids of the aliens, just like robots are for us today.

In addition, the backstory changed a bit and contains a Hollywood logic error : In an interview with “Mysterious Outpost Radio” ( HERE ), Howe says that her source, the Marine, only communicated with her in short texts or 30-second phone calls because his phone was tapped - otherwise they could have found out who he was talking to on the phone.

But this claim contains two glaring errors:

  1. If he were actively tapped from the first second, he wouldn't have revealed any information, not even a bit of it, since he would be revealing national secrets (after all, it was " suppressed by the government ").
  2. This “30 second rule” when listening to phone calls is a so-called TV trope that only appears in films and series. Perhaps it used to take this long to track a conversation in the early days of the telephone, but since the early 1980s at least there are no longer any mechanical circuits that had to physically connect the conversation partners' cables.

In addition, contrary to what she said in the lecture, she said she had no written notes about the conversations. The unknown Marine was suddenly no longer a direct witness, but rather just read information about it.

Conclusion

Ultimately, there is no evidence to support the authenticity of the killer robot narrative, but there are some logical errors that argue against its authenticity. It is also surprising how casually Howe talks about it, so that the whole story is most likely just an (exciting) introduction to its actual themes: humans as artificially created beings of an alien race.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) is said to be promoting microchip implants for children.
But it is by no means an advertisement, but rather a critical piece of food for thought from an individual scientist in an opinion article. – No, the WEF does not recommend microchip implants for children!
