Bonn - On suspicion of attempted homicide, the Bonn police homicide squad and the Bonn public prosecutor's office began investigations on the night of Sunday, October 1, 2017.
On Saturday evening, at 11 p.m., witnesses reported the sounds of gunshots and an injured person lying on the floor of the Arcadia Passage on Villichgasse in Bad Godesberg to the police operations control center. A 36-year-old man was found on site by paramedics and police patrols who had injuries to his lower body and legs. He was taken to hospital after emergency medical treatment.
At the same time, a 23-year-old man turned himself in at the Bad Godesberg police station. He stated that during an argument he shot the 36-year-old with a handgun and injured him.
The suspect was arrested.
Due to the overall circumstances, the Bonn Police Homicide Squad, headed by Chief Detective Werner Jüssen, began the investigation in close coordination with the Bonn Public Prosecutor's Office. In addition to immediately securing evidence at the crime scene and questioning witnesses, a 27-year-old man who could also have been involved in the crime was arrested a short time later near the crime scene. The investigation into the background, the exact course of the crime and the contributions of those arrested are ongoing. The injured person's life is not in danger.
