Not only us, but also the police are now reporting about it! It's an email from Paymentsolution!

It is one of those emails that are sent to citizens' mailboxes every day in a variety of but almost infinite forms. The subject of this email is “Your February Invoice,” which asks the recipient to open the attached attachment in order to view their alleged invoice.

But readers should beware of this.

Because instead of opening an invoice, there is a risk of installing malware on the computer.

“Hello, Attached to this email you will find your invoice for the month of February. The outstanding amount must be paid within 10 days. If you do not pay the invoice, we will instruct our debt collection team to do so. Kind regards Paymentsolution”

The real company Paymentsolution (paymentsolution.biz) expressly warns about the scam on its own homepage.

One of these emails was not opened by a woman from Bad Nauheim. Rather annoyed that she had received such a spam email again, she pressed the delete button and informed the police.

It is important to exercise caution with all emails before opening an attachment or clicking a link.

  • Check whether you are a customer of an alleged company or whether you know the sender.
  • Is your name written correctly?
  • Are there numerous spelling errors in the email that cast doubt on its authenticity?

As a precaution, you should not open attachments or links that you do not know or did not expect. be equipped with >> current antivirus protection

Your-Invoice.exe – or not!

Some emails have an attachment called “Your-Rechnung.rar”. In this archive there is a malware called “Your-Rechnung.exe”.

The Trojan is disguised as an invoice!

What is a TROJAN?

Trojans are standalone programs (.exe) that pretend to be something other than what they really are. When you run the file, it seems like nothing is happening.

But that's not true! A program is installed in the background.

The programs or internet fraudsters behind such programs now have access to your data or can also have complete control over your computer.

The most telltale of all file attachments is the .zip attachment. Emails from trustworthy sources never come as .zip files, not even as .com /.pif / .ico / .scr/ .exe. Please do not open and execute the contents unless you consciously expect such a file.

1) Anyone who opens or has opened the file attachment and has also executed the content (this is the critical point!) should first have their PC scanned by their virus scanner .
2) Change all passwords to social networks, online shops, etc. As a precaution, please also notify your bank or credit card company.

Your email account sends these emails itself?

If you get tons of error messages that your emails have not reached the recipient (and every minute), then your computer is infected and active in a botnet .
Here, too, check the PC immediately and, if necessary, consult an expert on site. Another alternative is to use the EMERGENCY CD from Kaspersky
