“To all dog haters” – fake or a serious warning?

We don't know that ourselves, because it's difficult to understand the author's intention when writing this message.

What we do know, however, is that the instructions for allegedly making poison bait cheaply and easily have already caused quite a stir.

This status report is now only available as a screenshot; the original was in a Facebook group and described in detail the production of poison bait, as well as the information that 10 baits had already been distributed in the Goch city park.

The newspaper “Rheinische Presse” (Goch is located on the Lower Rhine) has already reported on this topic and also warned :

According to the Animal Protection Act, anyone who actually kills or tortures dogs with prepared bait faces up to three years in prison. A request via Facebook to set out such bait could be “incitement” to commit a crime.

Since these “instructions” come from a completely fake profile, it will be difficult to determine whether the call to build poison bait was meant seriously or whether it is a case of trolling. However, since poison bait has been found in nearby Geldern in , the police and the public are alarmed.

The police announced in the Rheinische press :

“An investigation will definitely be carried out,” said police spokeswoman Manuela Schmickler. Of course the meadows will not be observed. “But we can interview witnesses and neighbors,” and sometimes there are revealing cell phone videos or “confessions” at the regulars’ table. “Someone will report it to the police once they investigate. But how are we supposed to know that if there is no complaint?”
