Early yesterday morning around 7:25 a.m. there was a traffic accident on district road 44 between Horneburg and Helmste in the Rüstjer Forest, in which the person who caused the accident simply continued driving without bothering to settle the damage.
Stade (ots) - A 23-year-old driver of an Audi A6 from Agathenburg was driving his vehicle towards Helmste at the time when a previously unknown driver of a VW Crafter approached him in the area of a right-hand bend in his lane at km 4.2 came who was about to overtake a tractor.
The Audi driver had to swerve to the right to avoid a collision, drove through the shoulder and hit a traffic pole.
The guide post and the Audi were damaged in the accident. The total damage is estimated at several hundred euros. The unknown Crafter driver didn't pay any attention to the accident and simply drove on.
He is now being investigated for an accident.
The police are now looking for the perpetrator and the driver of the smaller tractor with a front loader, which was being overtaken at the time, as an important witness.
